100% PD engagement!

Yucaipa Calimesa Joint Unified School District (YCJUSD), made up of nearly 9,000+ students, moved away from traditional, synchronous learning methods of one-size-fits-all, in-person PD that pulled teachers away from time with students.
YCJUSD teachers wanted to learn, and they wanted to protect their time in the classroom. (To add to this, substitute teacher shortages made in-person, synchronous learning methods not an option.)
YCJUSD professional learning leadership made it a mission to deliver an asynchronous learning and blended learning experience and instruction based on the needs of their educators – including learning style, skill level, and interests.
A colleague introduced them to Alludo online learning, and YCJUSD leadership prioritized professional learning for their educators – certificated and classified.
Here are the results...
1900+
Learners Completed 20,000+ Hours of PD!
Three TOAs approved every learning activity and provided meaningful individualized feedback to those who needed it!
75,000+
Microlearning Activities Completed
6,200+ missions completed and 2,400+ levels achieved
YCJUSD Progressed Choice Learning and District Initiatives
They moved beyond educational services to onboarding substitutes and HR!

What Yucaipa Calimesa JUSD Loves Most About Alludo Professional Learning
Asynchronous learning and blended learning is at their fingertips
-
YCJUSD professional learning leadership made it a priority to give their teachers and support staff both space and support.
With Alludo they are able to offer all of their educators – even substitute teachers – asynchronous or blended learning that is relevant to each student learner. This remote learning can be taken when it’s most convenient for each learner; every learning activity comes in bite-sized chunks called microlearning activities.
YCJUSD honors that each learner has different professional development needs and learning styles, and this applies not only to students but also to teacher and support staff learners. With Alludo, they can pinpoint interests and offer educators who want to keep learning the opportunity to do just that with online courses from the Alludo Content Catalog. WIth Alludo, YCJUSD can balance being supportive and having a clear direction on school district initiatives by delivering a combination of asynchronous digital learning, blended learning, and synchronous learning.
And now, by offering personalized, asynchronous learning with Alludo, YCJUSD has achieved 100% teacher engagement!
Yucaipa Calimesa JUSD attributes the success of their program to the following Alludo features:
Personalized learning based on interest and skill-level, spanning hundreds of topics, ensures learning is relevant.
Microlearning activities offer the flexibility to take asynchronous learning anytime, which protects time in the classroom.
Feedback loop makes it easy for a small number of administrators to provide meaningful support to a large number of learners.
Learners who want to jump ahead and keep learning can, and they become virtual learning advocates to their peers!
Alludo’s professional learning platform helps YCJUSD provide personalized professional learning opportunities that boost teacher effectiveness and create a community of professional growth among its teachers and staff.
This means everyone at YCJUSD can impact school district initiatives and student outcomes!
YCJUSD chose Alludo to deliver relevant PD to teachers and support staff.
And now learning has taken on a life of its own!
YCJUSD could progress both personalized learning and district initiatives like SEL via one professional learning platform.
Substitute onboarding and professional learning led to hiring substitutes as teachers, so Alludo helped YCJUSD invest in building their capacity.
Now Alludo is being used by not only teachers and support staff, but also HR and beyond!
“We are reaching places we weren’t able to before. Everyone has an opportunity to learn.”

Thoughts on educators...
"Educators are unique; they’re not here for the paycheck. They have a huge heart for the difference they are trying to make in students’ lives."
-
On being a mom and giving kids purpose...
"I'm a mom. I live and breathe being involved in multiple communities. When a kid feels confident and happy, she or he becomes a very different contributor in those communities – and to our world. It’s not just about student achievement or student performance. A student doesn’t have to have the best grades to have an impact. If you can give students knowledge and skills, you can help them find their purpose. When students have purpose, you can see the impact of good they make."
-
On teacher choice and voice...
"This starts with the teachers. If you give teachers a choice and a voice, and the opportunity to personalize an effective professional development pathway that speaks to their individual needs, you can light them up. And when they are lit up, they are able to teach in a very different way, and your kid comes home all lit up and excited."
